On April 10, barista Sander called me to tell me the news: he had found a space for his SOK Summer Espresso Lab. On April 14, while the paint was barely dry, the first espressos were tasted during the opening.
In less than 5 days, we designed and built a bright yellow and deep black espressobar in the Hartenstraat in Amsterdam. The black walls and bar surface are used as chalkboards for messages, promotions and espresso tutorials.
Sander, Onno and Kees have experimented for a little more than 4 months with beans, roasts, machinery, filters, strawberries and other things, in order to keep serving great surprising coffee.
